ABS Plastic Materials
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a copolymer made from three main raw materials:
-
Acrylonitrile
-
Butadiene
-
Styrene Monomer
ABS plastic comes in a variety of grades, which are determined by the combination of raw materials—styrene monomer, acrylonitrile, and butadiene—with other materials. The strength of ABS materials is higher than that of common plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. ABS materials possess features that, due to their cost, make them more widely used in certain industries, particularly in the home appliance sector, compared to other plastics.
ABS materials or alloys based on ABS are extensively used in the manufacture of precise pipes and fittings, automobile parts such as dashboards, steering wheels, and ventilation grilles, toys, office equipment, various home appliances like vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, and freezers, radio and television cabinets, telephones, and other electronic and electrical devices. They are also used in the construction of caravan roofs, furniture, boats, bathroom and toilet accessories, and many other applications.
